CNC Grinder (Studer) – Late Shift

About the role

This permanent, on‑site position is based in Hemel Hempstead and supports a high‑performance aerospace precision‑engineering facility. Working the late shift (6 pm‑4 am, Monday‑Thursday), you will operate Studer CNC grinding machines to produce medium‑to‑high complexity components.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and manage Studer CNC grinding equipment.
• Monitor machining processes and adjust parameters to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform in‑process quality checks to meet tight aerospace tolerances.
• Interpret engineering drawings and ensure first‑off inspection compliance.
• Log tooling information and update program amendments as required.
• Support basic machine maintenance and prepare equipment for subsequent jobs.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Studer CNC grinders and manual grinding machines.
• Understanding of mathematical concepts such as trigonometry.
• Previous work in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
• Strong attention to detail, steady hand‑eye coordination and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to work overtime to meet production demands.

What we offer

• Salary £43,000‑£51,000 per annum (£21.00 per hour + £3.50 shift allowance)
• Late shift schedule (6 pm‑4 am, Monday‑Thursday)
