CNC Machine Operator – Turning & Milling

About the role

Join Precision Components Ltd, a specialist manufacturer of high‑precision compressor rotor screws, as a CNC Machine Operator. You will work on both turning and milling machines to produce critical helical components for global industries, operating within a two‑week rotating shift pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines with FANUC controls.
• Interpret technical drawings and modify CNC programmes to meet part specifications.
• Select, install and change cutting tools, attachments and fixtures.
• Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, gauges and verniers.
• Monitor machining conditions, troubleshoot issues and perform routine maintenance.
• Collaborate with the production team to optimise processes and maintain lean standards.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience as a time‑served CNC Operator/Setter on VMCs and HMCs.
• Proven experience with FANUC‑controlled machines and ability to set up a variety of components.
• Experience producing complex parts to tight tolerances with minimal supervision.
• Qualified Advanced Modern Apprenticeship or recognised time‑served certification.
• Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern and overtime when required.
