CNC Machining Operator / Setter – Halstead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machining Operator / Setter to join a leading manufacturer of precision aluminium and steel castings in Halstead. You will set up and run CNC machinery to produce high‑quality components for aerospace, automotive, commercial and industrial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines for a variety of machining operations.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Prepare machine set‑ups according to production requirements.
• Monitor machine performance and output, reporting any issues.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Collaborate with the Inspection Department to maintain product standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a CNC Operator, CNC Setter or similar machining role.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Understanding of CNC programming and machine controls.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
