CNC Machinist – 4‑Day Week with Programming Training

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a well‑established metal components manufacturer in Newton Aycliffe. The position offers a 4‑day work week, a rotating shift pattern and the opportunity to receive training in CNC programming.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑up and operate Heidenheim and Fanuc multi‑axis milling machines.
• Perform quality checks, troubleshoot and adjust machine parameters as needed.
• Follow a two‑week rotating shift schedule (7:00‑15:30 then 14:30‑00:30) with a 21% shift allowance for late‑night shifts.
• Participate in on‑the‑job training to develop CNC programming skills.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating 3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis Heidenheim or Fanuc CNC mills.
• Willingness to commute to the workshop in Shildon/Newton Aycliffe area.
• Ability to work both day and evening shifts on a rotating schedule.
