CNC Machinist – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

Moog is seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join its Military Aircraft Group in Wolverhampton. The role supports expanding operations and contributes directly to New Product Introduction (NPI) projects for advanced aerospace systems. You will work on cutting‑edge designs, machining complex components in a high‑spec environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate a range of CNC machines, including mill/turn and multi‑axis equipment.
• Support NPI programmes, collaborating with engineering and quality teams to develop new components.
• Perform first‑off inspections and complete required quality documentation.
• Maintain extremely tight tolerances while machining aerospace parts.

Required profile

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
• At least 5 years of CNC machining experience.
• Strong background in engineering or manufacturing, preferably aerospace.
• Deep understanding of machining techniques, tooling, and inspection methods.
• Proactive mindset focused on precision, quality and continuous improvement.

• Operation of Okuma CNC machines.
• Operation of Mazak CNC machines.
• Operation of DMG CNC machines.
• Operation of Matsura CNC machines.
• Operation of Puma CNC machines.
• Multi‑axis CNC machining.
• Machining techniques and tooling selection.
• Inspection methods for aerospace components.
