CNC Machinist – Precision Engineering

About the role

We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join a leading precision engineering manufacturer in Bristol. You will work in a modern production environment, setting up and operating CNC equipment to produce high‑quality components for demanding industries.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor CNC milling and/or turning machines.
• Manufacture components from engineering drawings to tight tolerances.
• Select and install tooling, fixtures and machine offsets.
• Perform in‑process inspections using micrometers, verniers, bore and plug gauges.
• Monitor machine performance, make adjustments and resolve issues.
• Complete production documentation and maintain 5S standards.
• Support continuous‑improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating and setting CNC machine tools.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work both independently and in a team.

• Multi‑axis CNC machinery
• OEE/FourJaw monitoring systems
• Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation
