CNC Machinist – Training to Continental Shift

About the role

We are recruiting experienced CNC Machinists for a globally recognised manufacturing business in Livingston, East Lothian. The role starts with a three-month training period on a Monday-to-Friday 3-shift rotation, after which you will move to a 4-on/4-off continental shift pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines.
• Load CNC programs and calculate tooling offsets.
• Produce precision-engineered components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Maintain strict compliance with quality, safety and regulatory standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the machining department.

Required profile

• Time-served CNC Machinist or HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a CNC machining environment.
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts before transitioning to continental shifts.
• Legal right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
