CNC Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our precision engineering team in Portsmouth on a day‑shift, full‑time basis. This brand‑new role offers the opportunity to shape maintenance processes and drive continuous improvement in a 5‑axis CNC environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on a range of engineering equipment.
• Diagnose and fault‑find CNC machinery, including 5‑axis systems.
• Develop and implement structured maintenance routines and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support production teams as needed while working autonomously.
• Contribute to the overall maintenance function through proactive problem‑solving.

Required profile

• Proven experience in maintenance engineering covering both mechanical and electrical aspects.
• Background in a precision engineering or CNC‑driven environment is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated stability and commitment in previous roles.
• Ability to take initiative and establish effective processes in a new position.
• Solution‑focused mindset with strong organisational skills.
