CNC Miller – Setter/Operator (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Miller to join a long‑established precision engineering company serving the automotive, aerospace, defence and medical sectors. The role is permanent, full‑time and based in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex, with an immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis CNC milling machines.
• Produce high‑precision components to technical drawings and specifications.
• Inspect own work, make adjustments and record cycle times.
• Update tooling sheets and assist colleagues in improving processes.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.
• Follow all health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven ability to operate various CNC mills and controls.
• Understanding of tool and material capabilities.
• Competence in self‑inspection and quality control.
• Team‑oriented attitude.
• City & Guilds qualification or engineering apprenticeship (advantageous).
• Previous experience in a similar CNC milling role.

What we offer

• Salary £27,000‑£37,000 per annum (depending on experience).
• Overtime at £14‑£19 per hour.
• Standard 37.5‑hour week, Monday‑Friday 08:00‑16:00.
• Excellent earning potential with available overtime.
• Permanent contract with immediate start.
