CNC Miller/Turner – Full Programming Training & Overtime

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is based in Chard, South West England and offers a unique opportunity to develop advanced CNC programming skills while working on a days‑based shift. You will join a close‑knit team serving high‑profile clients in aerospace, gas & oil, rail and marine sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and set CNC milling and turning machines using Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens and Mazatrol controls.
• Progress to programming the machines with Mastercam, Edgecam and Fusion 360 after training.
• Maintain high quality standards and adhere to health and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to optimise machining processes.

Required profile

• Experience as a CNC operator, setter, programmer or toolmaker.
• Motivation to undertake intensive programming training.
• Willingness to work days‑based shifts with a half‑day on Friday.

Required skills

• Familiarity with CNC milling and turning equipment.
• Knowledge of Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens and Mazatrol controls.
• Basic understanding of CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Edgecam, Fusion 360) is advantageous.
