CNC Milling Machinist – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

Join a leading aerospace manufacturer and take your CNC machining career to the next level. Wild Recruitment is seeking experienced CNC Milling Machinists to support precision engineering projects for the aerospace sector on a fixed‑term basis.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3‑, 4‑, and 5‑axis CNC milling machines.
• Interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings and process specifications.
• Manufacture components to exact tolerances and required surface finishes.
• Perform in‑process inspections using micrometres, verniers, bore gauges and other precision instruments.
• Maintain machines and tooling through routine cleaning and servicing.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Follow Health & Safety and Quality Assurance procedures.
• Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure design intent and customer requirements are met.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating CNC milling machines in aerospace or precision engineering.
• Ability to adjust tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds for optimal performance.
• Strong skills in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with AS9100 standards (preferred).
• Competent use of precision measuring equipment and accurate record‑keeping.
• Detail‑oriented, quality‑driven and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering / CNC Machining (preferred).
