CNC Operator, Manufacturing Technician

About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join a precision manufacturing environment in Liverpool. The role supports the introduction of an in‑house capability for producing critical precision components in a highly regulated, technically demanding setting.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate a range of CNC machine tools, including 5‑axis machining centres, Fanuc‑controlled CNC lathes, vertical machining centres and multi‑axis turn/mill centres.
• Manufacture precision components and sealing products to tight tolerances.
• Carry out machine setup, tooling changes and process optimisation.
• Work within small‑batch, high‑precision manufacturing environments.
• Use inspection equipment such as hard gauging, probing systems and CMM to ensure product quality.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation.
• Work with materials including stainless steels and heat‑resistant super alloys.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering activities.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience in a precision engineering environment.
• Proven experience setting and operating CNC machinery in high‑precision manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc‑controlled CNC lathes and vertical machining centres.
• At least two years operating multi‑axis CNC turn/mill machining centres.
• Experience manufacturing components to fine tolerances and a solid understanding of ISO programming.
• Proficiency with inspection equipment, including CMM and precision gauging.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
