CNC Production Engineer – Motorsport & F1

About the role

We are seeking a CNC Production Engineer to join a leading precision manufacturing business that supplies the Motorsport and Formula 1 sectors. The role combines engineering expertise, CNC programming and hands‑on production work to develop efficient machining processes for high‑spec components.

Key responsibilities

• Program 3‑ to 5‑axis CNC machines using NCG, Hypermill or EdgeCAM.
• Set up and optimise Heidenhain‑controlled machines, tooling and cutting strategies.
• Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to improve part manufacturability and reduce cycle times.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and process improvement support to the production team.
• Create work instructions, standard operating procedures and routing documentation.
• Lead process capability studies and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support New Product Introduction from concept through to full‑scale production.

Required profile

• Proven experience in high‑precision CNC machining, preferably in Motorsport, F1 or aerospace.
• Strong CNC programming and CAM experience.
• Good understanding of GD&T, cutting tools and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Heidenhain controls.
• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
