CNC Programmer

About the role

Based in South Essex, you will join a well‑known manufacturing company that designs, builds and installs automated machinery for multiple industries. The role involves both CNC machining and programming, supporting a strong order book and projects over the next 3‑6 years.

Key responsibilities

• Machine low‑quantity precision components in various metals and plastics using existing programmes, tooling and fixtures.
• Program and engineer new components from scratch, primarily using online programming methods.
• Perform quality inspection and control, ensuring parts meet engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and model requirements.
• Maintain and set up CNC workshop equipment.

Required profile

• Solid mechanical or engineering background, preferably with an engineering apprenticeship.
• Experience with CNC machining and programming, especially on Haas or Heidenhain‑controlled machines.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and produce quality‑driven parts.
• Familiarity with offline programming tools such as Fusion 360.
