CNC Programmer – Multi-Axis CAM Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our precision manufacturing team in Birkenhead. The role focuses on offline CAM programming for complex multi-axis components using EdgeCam and/or HyperMill.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, prove and optimise multi-axis CNC programs using EdgeCam or HyperMill.
• Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models and GD&T to create accurate toolpaths.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds for each material.
• Perform virtual simulations, collision checks and support first-article inspections.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality and engineering teams to ensure programmes meet first-off requirements.
• Maintain the NC program library, handling revision control and traceability in line with AS9100.
• Identify and implement improvements to reduce cycle times and enhance surface finish.

Required profile

• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent CNC programming qualification.
• Proven experience with offline CAM software such as EdgeCam or HyperMill.
• Strong background in multi-axis machining within a precision or aerospace environment.
• Familiarity with AS9100 documentation and quality standards.
