CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator

About the role

Join a leading precision engineering company in Poole, delivering high‑spec components to aerospace, motorsport, nuclear and oil & gas sectors. As a CNC Programmer Setter Operator you will program, set up and run Mazak CNC lathes and machining centres, ensuring parts meet exact specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes and machining centres.
• Write and edit Mazatrol and ISO CNC programmes.
• Interpret engineering drawings and select appropriate tooling and fixtures.
• Produce components to tight tolerances and conduct first‑off and in‑process inspections.
• Use precision measuring equipment to verify quality and optimise machining cycles.
• Collaborate with the team to improve production efficiency.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety.

Required profile

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC machine tools, preferably Mazak.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling and tight‑tolerance work.
• Experience with precision inspection equipment in an ISO‑9001 environment.
• Desirable: Mazatrol programming, aerospace or precision engineering background, apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.
