CNC Setter/Operator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a close‑knit four‑person team in Strood, Kent. You will work in a clean manufacturing facility producing electrical equipment, operating on rotating 6am‑2pm / 2pm‑10pm shifts while following high‑precision 5S standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead machine changeovers and run high‑precision production batches.
• Modify and optimise Fanuc and Mitsubishi CNC programmes on modern machines.
• Inspect finished parts against strict tolerances using precision measuring gauges.
• Manage tooling optimisation and maintain 5S workplace standards.
• Work autonomously on production runs while adhering to engineering drawings.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of CNC setting and operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with Fanuc or Mitsubishi controls and Mori Seiki, Citizen or Muratec machines is preferred.
• Willingness to work a rotating weekly shift pattern (6am‑2pm / 2pm‑10pm).
