CNC Turner – Precision Engineering (South Woodham Ferrers)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner to join a well‑established precision engineering company in South Woodham Ferrers. The role involves programming, setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce high‑quality components to tight tolerances.

Key responsibilities

• Program and operate CNC lathes using FANUC and Siemens controls.
• Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to determine machining operations.
• Set up machines and select appropriate tooling for one‑off, small‑batch and larger batch runs (up to 500 pieces).
• Measure and inspect components with micrometers, calipers and gauges to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organised work area and ensure regular machine maintenance.
• Collaborate with the team to optimise production processes and improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner with a strong track record of precision machining.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and work instructions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Strong problem‑solving and organisational skills.
• Team‑oriented attitude and willingness to follow health and safety procedures.

• Competitive salary £33,000‑£41,000 per year.
