CNC Turning Machine Operator – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

We are partnering with a leading aerospace manufacturer to find an experienced CNC Turning Machine Operator. You will work on precision components for cutting‑edge aerospace projects, ensuring high quality and strict tolerances.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc control systems.
• Interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings and process specifications.
• Manufacture components to tight tolerances and high‑quality surface finishes.
• Perform in‑process inspections with micrometres, verniers and bore gauges.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Adhere to Health & Safety and AS9100 quality standards.
• Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating CNC lathes in a precision engineering or aerospace environment.
• Ability to programme and edit directly at the machine.
• Strong capability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with AS9100 standards (preferred).
• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering / CNC Machining (preferred).
