Colorectal Triage Pathway Coordinator

About the role

The Colorectal Service at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton is seeking a dedicated Colorectal Triage Pathway Coordinator to join the team at Queen's Burton Hospital. You will support the Clinical Nurse Specialist team in triaging 2‑week-wait colorectal referrals, ensuring rapid diagnosis and smooth patient pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Administer clinical triage of colorectal 2WW referrals and monitor appointment outcomes.
• Book and track relevant investigations (MRI, CT, Ultrasound, histology) and maintain a results database.
• Ensure timely clinician review of results to meet cancer waiting time guidance.
• Produce and type clinical correspondence and chase missing reports.
• Escalate issues to the Triage CNS team when required.
• Manage own workload, liaise with clinicians and multidisciplinary staff, and provide patient contact as needed.

Required profile

• Highly organised, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clinical and administrative staff.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
