About the role

Oakley Hill, a well‑established insurance brokerage in Abingdon, is seeking a motivated Commercial Account Handler. You will develop and manage a portfolio of commercial clients while collaborating closely with the Branch Manager to meet business targets. Key responsibilities

• Develop and retain commercial client accounts across a broad range of industry sectors.
• Generate new business through networking, marketing activities and community engagement.
• Attend and lead networking events to build a robust sales pipeline.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to policy placement.
• Conduct client meetings to identify growth opportunities and cross‑selling potential.
• Deliver tailored insurance solutions covering Property, Liability and Professional Indemnity.
• Negotiate competitive terms to secure appropriate coverage for clients.

Required profile

• Proven experience winning new business and building long‑term B2B relationships.
• Proactive approach to client development and market engagement.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to spot new opportunities.
• Consultative, solutions‑focused mindset.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills.
• Willingness to pursue professional development and industry qualifications.
• Previous experience in insurance, financial services or a related field is preferred.
