Commercial Apprenticeship – Procurement & Supply Assistant

About the role

This two‑year Commercial Apprenticeship with the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority gives you hands‑on experience in procurement and supply. You will support senior team members, engage with internal stakeholders and develop a solid foundation in contract management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in contract negotiations and support senior staff on procurement activities.
• Monitor supplier performance, generate reports and ensure contract compliance.
• Maintain procurement records, track negotiations and update contracts and correspondence.
• Identify risks in the procurement process and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to support procurement initiatives.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and ready to learn, with a commitment to complete the apprenticeship.
• Minimum 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) at grade 4/C or above.
• At least 2 A‑Levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above, or predicted grades.
• Good communication, organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Right to work in the UK and meet government apprenticeship funding eligibility.

Required skills

• Basic IT proficiency, particularly Microsoft Office.
