Commercial Catering Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Catering Engineer to join a leading catering equipment provider in London. The role focuses on the installation, maintenance and repair of white‑goods catering equipment, with regular travel across the city and a company van provided.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service and troubleshoot commercial catering equipment on client sites.
• Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Provide on‑call standby support (1 in 4 weekends) and record standby fees.
• Produce detailed service reports using service management software.
• Maintain a company van and adhere to a full UK driver’s licence requirement.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Commercial Catering Engineer.
• COMCAT 1, 2, 3 and 5 qualifications (essential).
• Commercial Gas Qualification (ACS) – highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems related to catering equipment.
• Excellent written communication and problem‑solving abilities.

What we offer

• Competitive salary £48,000‑£55,000 per year.
• Company van for work travel.
• £50 standby fee per on‑call shift.
• Overtime rates: 1.5× after 8.5 h (Mon‑Fri), 1.5× all day Saturday, 2× all day Sunday, 2.5× all day Bank Holidays.
• 40‑hour week with a 1‑in‑4 weekend rota.
