Commercial Contracts Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Contracts Specialist to join a fast‑paced organisation and support a newly created commercial function. You will work across a varied portfolio of projects, providing expert guidance on contracts, commercial strategy and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including goods and services contracts, partner agreements and vendor terms.
• Provide insight on contract frameworks such as NEC4 and other industry‑standard agreements.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks and supporting materials to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Advise internal stakeholders on commercial risks, opportunities and strategy, ensuring obligations and service levels are realistic.
• Identify commercial risks and propose pragmatic mitigation strategies.
• Support dispute resolution and manage contract‑related queries with internal and external parties.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes, systems and tools.
• Lead or support cross‑functional commercial projects as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial contracts within a B2B environment.
• Working knowledge of NEC4 or equivalent contract frameworks.
• Legal training such as a law degree, LPC or GDL.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and risk assessment abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage a large volume of work to tight deadlines.
