About the role

The Commercial Finance & Technology Director leads the finance, procurement and technology functions of WEA, the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. This senior position is responsible for safeguarding long‑term financial sustainability while driving new income streams and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial management, insight and assurance to the CEO and Board of Trustees.
• Develop and implement diversified income strategies to support organisational growth.
• Lead the finance, procurement and IT teams, setting the overall technology strategy.
• Champion commercial best practice across the organisation.
• Ensure robust financial controls, reporting and risk management.

• Proven experience managing significant financial challenges in a complex organisation.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of improving performance.
• Leadership experience overseeing finance, procurement and technology functions.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic change.
