Commercial Lawyer - Consultant

About the role

Richard Nelson LLP is seeking experienced commercial solicitors to join its national network as self‑employed consultants. The role offers full autonomy to manage your own caseload while benefiting from the firm’s compliance, administrative, and marketing support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist commercial legal advice to businesses and professionals across England and Wales.
• Manage client relationships, develop new business and maintain a personal client portfolio.
• Prepare and negotiate contracts, handle disputes, and represent clients in regulatory matters.
• Ensure compliance with firm policies, regulatory obligations and professional indemnity requirements.

Required profile

• Post‑qualification experience as a senior commercial solicitor.
• Proven ability to generate at least £100,000 of annual billing or £8,000 per month.
• Strong client following and a track record of fee‑earning work.
• Desire to work independently while being part of a collaborative national team.
