Commercial Lead

About the role

Goodman Masson is supporting a leading South East housing association in hiring a Commercial Lead to own the commercial function across a £30m+ investment programme. This newly created position will shape procurement strategy, embed commercial governance and drive value across multiple workstreams.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing contracts, identify risks and embed change‑control processes.
• Develop and maintain a commercial risk log and validate cash‑flow forecasts.
• Shape procurement strategy for kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors, decarbonisation, energy efficiency and other works.
• Provide commercial support for a newly procured repairs contract and influence business planning and cost modelling.
• Identify training needs and help build a commercial team, including future graduate Quantity Surveyor recruitment.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified Quantity Surveyor with senior‑level experience.
• Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contract forms.
• Proven track record in planned works or framework contract management.
• Experience in social housing, local authority or regulated environments is advantageous.
• Commercially astute with confidence to challenge contractor applications and drive value for money.
