Commercial Manager – Construction & Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead cost and contract management for a major civil engineering design package, from initiation through close‑out, on a multi‑national construction and infrastructure project.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee procurement and contract award for subcontractors and sub‑consultants.
• Administer contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and sub‑contractors.
• Manage and supervise commercial staff.
• Administer incentivisation arrangements where appropriate.
• Oversee assessment of EWN's and compensation events.
• Provide regular cash‑flow forecasts and report expenditure against incentive targets.
• Manage the change management process and assess risks to overall project out‑turn.
• Produce monthly consolidated cost/expenditure reports.
• Manage the monthly valuation process and contractor/supplier claims.
• Oversee adjudication of claims and recommend settlements.
• Finalise contractor accounts and close out contracts.
• Raise consultant, supplier or contractor instructions for approval.
• Manage financial contingency and ensure alignment with the programme position.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial management on major (£100m+) construction or infrastructure projects.
• Formal qualification such as RICS or equivalent.
• Experience supervising a commercial team.
• Strong attention to detail with strategic awareness.
• Ability to clearly articulate positions and present to senior management.
