Commercial Manager - Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead fit‑out projects from the tender stage through to hand‑over and final account. You will work closely with clients, suppliers and the internal project team to ensure commercial success across retail, leisure and hospitality environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of projects from estimating and tendering to final account.
• Prepare, review and negotiate subcontract packages and procurement schedules.
• Lead full subcontractor procurement, qualification and implementation.
• Conduct cost planning, forecasting, valuations and regular financial reporting.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive new business opportunities and manage change‑control programmes.
• Ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining margin performance.
• Take ownership of multiple fit‑out projects simultaneously, maintaining high operational standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor in the retail and/or leisure fit‑out sector.
• Strong knowledge of fast‑track fit‑out projects and commercial challenges in live environments.
• Depth of fit‑out background with a commercial‑aware mindset.
• Highly organised with a keen eye for detail and an interest in mentoring junior team members.

What we offer

• Salary £50,000‑£70,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• 30 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.
• Full‑time hours: 8 am‑5 pm, Monday‑Friday.
• Location: Lichfield, West Midlands.
