Commercial Manager – Food & Supply Chain

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead growth within the food and supply‑chain sector for a well‑established international logistics business. The role is home‑based with regular travel across Yorkshire and the North East, offering autonomy and the chance to make a tangible commercial impact.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts.
• Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and decision‑makers.
• Understand customer requirements and develop commercially focused solutions.
• Prepare commercial proposals and negotiate agreements.
• Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service and Finance to ensure successful delivery.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and contribute to commercial growth objectives.
• Represent the business professionally across the region.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, Business Development Manager, National/Strategic/Key Account Manager.
• Commercial experience within logistics, transport, supply chain, food or FMCG sectors.
• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated success in winning new business and developing key customer relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Consultative, solutions‑led approach to business development.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
