Commercial Manager – Housing Services

About the role

We are looking for a Commercial Manager to lead our local commercial team delivering housing property services in Dartford. You will ensure accurate invoicing, cost control and profit protection while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the commercial team and processes to achieve timely, accurate client invoicing.
• Control overheads, salaries, vehicles, equipment, tools, stock and petty cash to maximise profit and cash flow.
• Oversee the full valuation process through to final account settlement.
• Collaborate with the Regional Finance Team to drive Work‑in‑Progress, invoicing and profitability.
• Ensure correct use of Mears Contract Management system and Mears Subcontractor Portal for cost management and KPI reporting.
• Provide commercial training to staff and support tendering of new projects.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety, appearance and asset condition.

Required profile

• Experience in social housing commercial environments.
• Familiarity with NHF SOR rates, preferably version 8.
• Proven track record handling multiple tasks in a fast‑changing, high‑volume setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• People‑management experience.
