About the role

Our client, a growing logistics provider in Folkestone, is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager. You will play a pivotal role in driving business performance, building strategic customer relationships, and supporting the company’s continued expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies that maximise profitability and support growth.
• Identify new business opportunities while strengthening existing customer relationships.
• Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients across air, sea, road freight, warehousing and customs services.
• Collaborate with operational teams to deliver seamless, tailored services.
• Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing structures and service solutions.
• Monitor commercial performance to ensure healthy profit margins.
• Attend customer meetings, networking events and site visits to reinforce partnerships.
• Analyse market trends and customer requirements to inform strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Commercial Manager, Business Development or senior sales role within freight forwarding or logistics.
• Strong understanding of air, sea and road freight operations, warehousing and customs services.
• Demonstrated ability to identify commercial opportunities and deliver sustainable growth.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship‑management skills.
• Commercial awareness with a balance of customer satisfaction and profitability.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Analytical thinking for informed commercial decisions.
