Commercial Project Manager (Construction)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Commercial Project Manager to join our Birmingham team. In this on‑site position you will be responsible for the financial and contractual performance of construction and refurbishment projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor and update project budgets and cost forecasts.
• Manage contracts, variations, claims and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Track project costs, support invoicing and payment processes.
• Provide commercial reporting to senior management and clients.
• Identify risks and opportunities to improve project profitability.
• Contribute to tender preparation, negotiations and commercial strategy.
• Coordinate with site managers, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to interpret project data and assess risks.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external partners.
• Experience in construction, building or related industries, preferably in a commercial or project management role.
• Ability to work on‑site in Birmingham, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Relevant qualification in quantity surveying, construction management, finance or a related field is beneficial.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with project costing tools.
