Commercial Relationship Manager – Banking

About the role

Metro Bank is looking for a Commercial Relationship Manager to build and manage a portfolio of commercial banking customers in Bristol. You will combine business development with strong relationship management to grow the bank’s presence while ensuring compliance and risk standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain a portfolio of commercial banking clients through proactive outreach and promotion of Metro Bank products.
• Develop strong internal relationships to support client needs and drive cross‑selling opportunities.
• Make lending decisions aligned with the bank’s objectives, adhering to operational processes and compliance standards.
• Manage credit risk and financial‑crime risk for the assigned portfolio.
• Support retail colleagues in local stores and generate new business opportunities.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Self‑starter with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding personal and business targets.
• Ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of commercial banking products and regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• Knowledge of commercial banking principles and credit assessment.
• Familiarity with financial‑crime awareness and mitigation.
