Commercial Retail Analyst – Full Time (37.5 hrs/week)

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position (37.5 hours per week) supports the commercial success of a retail business by analysing sales, margin and stock performance. You will work closely with merchandising, buying, store and planning teams to deliver an excellent customer experience both in‑store and online.

Key responsibilities

• Produce regular trading reports and KPI summaries (sales, margin, stock vs. budget and prior year).
• Provide weekly trading actions and recommendations to optimise department sales and margin.
• Maintain and forecast stock, intake and replenishment plans while controlling inventory risk.
• Respond to stores’ inventory and availability queries as a key contact.
• Analyse promotional and markdown activity and ensure compliance with the markdown calendar.
• Support product selection, allocation and range decisions in collaboration with buying and merchandising.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and share best practices.
• Ensure compliance with quality, ethical and trading standards.

Required profile

• Commercially minded, analytical and highly organised.
• Ability to work effectively with data and multiple stakeholders.
• Clear communicator, confident negotiator and decisive in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Experience in retail merchandising, buying or commercial planning is desirable, but ambition and a proactive, collaborative attitude are essential.
