Commercial Solicitor – Consultant (Hybrid/Remote)

About the role

Richard Nelson LLP is seeking experienced commercial solicitors to join as self‑employed consultants. The role offers a modern, flexible way to practise law, allowing you to work remotely or from the office while building your own client base.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist commercial legal advice to professionals, businesses and individuals.
• Manage your own caseload and client relationships independently.
• Set your own fees and financial targets, operating on a fee‑split model.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and maintain professional indemnity insurance.
• Collaborate with the firm’s compliance, administration and accounts teams.

Required profile

• Senior solicitor with post‑qualification experience in commercial law.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload confidently.
• Strong client following, generating at least £100,000 annual billing.
• Desire for autonomy and a fee‑earning focus without partnership constraints.
