Commercial Tyre Fitter – Bus Garages Didcot & Cheltenham

About the role

Michelin is looking for a practical, reliable and self-motivated person to look after the tyres across customer bus depots in and around Didcot and Cheltenham. You will typically cover around three garages, planning your day and managing your own workload so that buses stay safe, road-ready and compliant. The role suits people who want stability and a shorter week than many tyre-fitting jobs, with no weekends, call-outs or roadside work.

Key responsibilities

• Servicing, fitting, maintaining and inspecting tyres across bus fleets.
• Managing around three garages, planning routes and workload independently.
• Working a 37.5-hour week, usually starting around 5-6am, to carry out essential maintenance while buses are in the depot.
• Completing night-time fleet inspections about three times a month, usually starting around midnight/1am, so vehicles can be checked while off the road.
• Recording job details and updating the internal system (training provided).
• Building positive relationships with depot teams and representing Michelin professionally.

Required profile

• Ideally based near Didcot.
• Full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years (insurance requirement).
• Right to work in the UK; the role is not eligible for sponsorship.
• Organised, reliable and comfortable working independently.
• Willingness to work early mornings and occasional night shifts.

Required skills

• Basic IT confidence to complete job sheets and track stock (training provided).
• Full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years.
