Commis Chef – Conference Venue, Birmingham

About the role

Wilson Vale is seeking an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join the kitchen team at one of its conference venues in Birmingham. This permanent, full‑time role offers a variety of shift patterns between 6:00 am and 9:30 pm, providing a solid entry point for anyone looking to start or develop a career in hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare fresh ingredients and assist with food preparation across all kitchen sections.
• Support senior chefs during service in a fast‑paced environment.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness.
• Follow recipes and presentation standards consistently.
• Assist with stock rotation and organisation.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver excellent food and service.

Required profile

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Basic knife skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
• Reliable, hardworking and eager to develop.
