Commis Chef

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join the kitchen team at Parkdean Resorts in Newquay. This is an entry‑level position where you will support the preparation and presentation of dishes in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present dishes according to company specifications while maintaining high standards of cookery and service.
• Keep your section and the wider kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic throughout service.
• Check and record food temperatures accurately and follow all food safety processes.
• Assist with food preparation, restocking and portion control to minimise waste.
• Receive, check and store deliveries safely, applying stock rotation and hygiene guidelines.
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen team and follow health & safety, allergen and equipment procedures.
• Complete deep‑clean tasks as directed by the Head Chef.

Required profile

• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Passion for producing great food and delivering memorable guest experiences.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification or equivalent.

Required skills

• Food Hygiene Level 2 certification.
• High‑volume food preparation.
