Commissioning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join a market‑leading provider of integrated systems for transport, airport and power infrastructure. Based in Derby, you will work on a mix of day and night shifts, supporting multiple projects from installation through to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Commission, test and troubleshoot electrical and control equipment on site.
• Perform loop checks, I/O testing and functional verification according to test documentation.
• Execute PLC data‑input tests and verify communication with plant and field devices.
• Set up field devices and carry out site acceptance tests.
• Diagnose and correct PLC code or wiring issues.
• Produce RAMs, test reports, weekly progress updates and other project documentation.
• Participate in site progress meetings, toolbox talks and represent the business during client‑facing tests.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant commissioning experience.
• HNC level or higher qualification in electrical or control engineering.
• Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in Europe (EU/EEA/Swiss passport).
• No criminal convictions due to required security clearances.
