Commissioning Engineer (Multiskilled)

About the role

We are seeking a multiskilled Commissioning Engineer to join a leading clean‑energy company that upgrades biomethane from agricultural waste. The role combines remote support with field‑based work across the North of England and Scotland, delivering commissioning, optimisation and maintenance of cutting‑edge biomethane upgrading systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on biomethane upgrading skids and related equipment.
• Carry out Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, handover and optimisation at customer sites.
• Provide remote and on‑site technical support, fault finding, diagnostics and production optimisation.
• Plan and execute preventative and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Develop and improve commissioning procedures, maintenance documentation, risk assessments and method statements.
• Travel extensively throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commissioning, field service, maintenance or industrial operations.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
• Knowledge of PLC systems, process control and industrial automation.
• Full UK driving licence.
