Commissioning Engineer – Training & Mechanical

About the role

This position is for a motivated Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Engineer who wants to develop into a Test and Commissioning Engineer. Based in Stroud, you will work for a market‑leading aviation support company, receiving hands‑on training from the Head Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle testing and repairs on specialist equipment.
• Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and engine systems.
• Support the service and after‑sales team on installations, calibrations and on‑site testing.
• Visit customer sites for testing, installation and calibration after the first year of training.
• Perform lone work safely once qualified.

Required profile

• Background in pneumatics, hydraulics, pipe bending, mechanical fitting or similar.
• Willingness to progress into a test and inspection engineering role.
• Ability to commute to Stroud.
