Commissioning Home Manager – Luxury Care Home

About the role

We are seeking a Commissioning Home Manager to lead the launch of a brand‑new, 80‑bed luxury care home in Brentwood, Essex. You will be responsible for building the home from the ground up, establishing occupancy, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Drive occupancy from zero and develop local referral pathways.
• Recruit and build a permanent team, minimizing agency reliance.
• Set up operational systems, policies, governance and compliance processes.
• Prepare the home for CQC registration and inspection readiness.
• Manage budgets, occupancy targets and P&L performance.
• Ensure health & safety and all regulatory requirements are met.
• Develop relationships with local authorities, NHS partners and community stakeholders.
• Lead marketing activities to establish the home’s reputation locally.

Required profile

• Registered Home Manager or senior management experience in elderly care.
• Proven track record in a care home environment.
• Strong commercial awareness of occupancy and budgeting.
• Confident, hands‑on operator able to take ownership from day one.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CQC and Local Authority regulatory requirements.
• Health & Safety compliance expertise.
• Budget management and P&L oversight.
