Commodities Analyst / Trader

About the role

We are seeking a Commodities Analyst / Trader to join a leading global hedge fund that specialises in systematic and quantitative investment strategies. Based in central London, you will work closely with a multi‑regional team to develop and refine commodity supply‑demand models and generate trading ideas.

Key responsibilities

• Support the desk by building and maintaining commodity supply and demand models.
• Develop and improve analytical tools and processes for the trading team.
• Provide market analysis to support idea generation across commodity markets.
• Analyse, evaluate and enhance market data quality for model development and signal generation.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, econometrics, applied economics or a related computational field.
• Experience in research, data analysis or modelling within a similar quantitative setting.
• Strong passion for commodity markets and ability to collaborate across multiple regions.

Required skills

• Proficient coding skills in Python.
• Experience with Excel (beneficial but not mandatory).
