Commodity Broker Assistant

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to join a specialist commodity broking business that operates in international agricultural markets. Working closely with experienced brokers and senior management, you will support contract execution, operational activities and market analysis across global trading venues.

Key responsibilities

• Support brokers with the management and execution of international agricultural contracts.
• Draft, issue and monitor contracts, tracking performance and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Liaise with clients and counterparties across international markets.
• Assist with market research, data gathering and commodity market analysis.
• Support operational processes related to shipping, logistics and trade documentation.
• Help resolve contractual and operational issues as they arise.
• Produce reports and market intelligence to aid commercial decision‑making.

Required profile

• GCSE English Language and Mathematics Grade B/6 or above (or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience.
• Experience in operations, logistics, shipping, commodities, supply chain, contract administration or negotiation.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing to non‑native English speakers.
• Understanding of international current affairs, regional geography, economics and business management.

• Salary £30,000‑£40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
