Communications and Events Officer

About the role

The Department of Gender Studies at LSE is seeking a Communications and Events Officer to lead internal and external communications and to support the delivery of high‑profile events. You will be responsible for shaping the department’s messaging, maintaining its digital presence and ensuring that key audiences receive timely information.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the department’s communications strategy across web, social media and the departmental blog.
• Produce, edit and publish content for newsletters, press releases, web pages and promotional materials.
• Plan, organise and promote internal and external events, from academic seminars to public outreach activities.
• Maintain and update the department website using the content management system.
• Monitor media coverage and analytics to assess the impact of communications activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communications, marketing or event management, preferably within an academic or research environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience using a Content Management System (CMS) to edit and publish web content.
• Familiarity with social‑media platforms and basic analytics tools.
