Communications Manager, Planning and Facilities Management

About the role

Georgetown University is seeking a Communications Manager to support its Planning & Facilities Management (PFM) unit. The role will increase awareness and understanding of PFM projects across the campus, fostering a transparent internal culture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute strategic communication plans for PFM initiatives and construction projects.
• Draft and coordinate communications for university leaders, students, faculty, staff, and the broader Georgetown community.
• Collaborate with the Office of Strategic Communications and the Office of the Chief Operating Officer to ensure consistent messaging.
• Serve as deputy to the Director of Internal Communications and Operations Communications, protecting the university brand.
• Support internal communications for departments such as University Information Services, Finance, Auxiliary Services, and Human Resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in facilities management, public relations, journalism, broadcasting, higher education, or a non‑profit setting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong judgment.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, and handle high‑volume communication initiatives.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
