Community CAMHS Charge Nurse

About the role

The NHS Ayrshire and Arran are seeking a Band 6 Charge Nurse to join the Community CAMHS pan‑Ayrshire team. Based in the North Ayrshire locality at Ayrshire Central Hospital, you will help deliver specialist mental health services for children and young people aged 5‑18.

Key responsibilities

• Provide mental health assessments, risk assessments and evidence‑based treatments to children and young people.
• Supervise and support Band 5 nurses, overseeing their learning, development and attendance.
• Collaborate with CAMHS team leaders, the Urgent Assessment and Intensive Treatment team, and the Neuro team to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Maintain close links with Skye House and Woodland View to facilitate timely admissions and discharges.

Required profile

• First‑level clinical professional qualification appropriate for a Band 6 Charge Nurse.
• Genuine interest in working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
• UK driving licence (essential).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a caring, safe and respectful environment.
