Community Driver – Delivery & Sales Support

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Community Driver to join our team at the Tynedale Centre in Hexham. In this role you will support the CORE Furniture project by collecting, delivering and selling pre‑loved furniture and household items to the local community. You will work alongside staff and volunteers, including adults with learning disabilities, to provide a friendly and efficient service.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload furniture and household items safely.
• Collect and deliver items across the local area, often with multi‑drop routes.
• Perform vehicle safety checks, report defects and keep accurate paperwork.
• Maintain the van in a clean, tidy and roadworthy condition.
• Assist with sales activities in the CORE showroom.
• Collaborate with team members and take part in training opportunities.
• Follow health and safety procedures and safe‑lifting practices.
• Provide excellent customer service to members of the public.

Required profile

• Full, valid Category B driving licence.
• Experience in delivery or driving work.
• Good communication and customer‑service abilities.
• Ability to plan delivery routes and keep records.
• Physical capability to lift, load and unload regularly.
• Flexible, positive attitude to teamwork.
• Basic cash and card handling knowledge.
