Community Engagement Officer

About the role
We are seeking a proactive Community Engagement Officer to act as the bridge between a specialist SEND college and the wider Kingston upon Thames community. In this full‑time position you will create and nurture partnerships that enrich the student experience and raise the college’s profile.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and develop collaborations with local businesses, charities and community groups.
- Design and deliver enrichment activities, events and educational visits for students.
- Organise residential trips and coordinate logistics for college‑wide initiatives.
- Promote student participation, amplify student voice and support Student Ambassadors.
- Build and maintain an alumni network to sustain long‑term relationships.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to showcase student success and community impact.
Required profile
- Confident relationship builder with a proactive, self‑motivated attitude.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects independently.
- Passionate about supporting young adults with SEND.
- Creative, solution‑focused and full of ideas.
- Excellent communicator who enjoys meeting new people.
- Knowledge of Kingston upon Thames and existing local contacts are a strong advantage.

What we offer
- Competitive salary between £25,000 and £28,000 per year.
